Slightly Delayed

Well it’d be a while since I was cast into a spare
ribbon category, but Virgin Australia managed to
regress its ‘competence’ hitherto unimpeached -
the one whence good-manners failed all logic of
tenable defence; - flight VA938 was delayed an
hour apparently by technical problems although
what it meant no-one tried explain exactly; - we
wait at gate 41 patiently - then it disappears off

The departure screen; the hour delay seems to
have expanded into almost three - needing that
explicable shift to another gate - with possibility
of further shifts implied. So we’d been at gates
41, 45, & finally 39 - awaiting an event we had
originally arrived 90 minutes in advance of. 

When we board it 3 hours later - it is to another
delay, a weight distribution issue we have to sit
45 mins through - and once again unexplained,
while connecting-flight concern grows thorns of
dilemmas expressed in jeers and guffaws each
announcement invites. Yet despite the trial, we 

Agreed to cheer gratefully on arriving in Sydney
and jubilantly did after touching down some five
hours beyond our original arrival time …
