While I muse about the tenuous exigencies of relief
from our drought-breaking rain - and it has come on
th’ back of prolonged sequences of extremes with a
highest-ever-recorded-temperature playing havoc in
meanest of ways - there’s the bureaucratic dreich of
disingenuous claims; who is to blame for this blush
of misinformation about whether the weather’s thus
cause or consequence of what we expect / believe
It isn’t me I protest, the wet after a drought relieves
more than just symptoms of aridness; its when you
have to wade to the waist in that relief or get swept
away you begin to ponder who’s the real thief; and
then - whose selection of choices was it made less
than a safe place of what they’d claimed it to be
