Ample Space

The way I see it there’s ample space for these
fine examples of the new generation to ‘blaze’
in glory, & while they take those kudos easily,
the game isn’t a ‘wait-and-see’ expression of
an analogy long passed use-by date; point is
that’s too far from it - they coin their own way
within mysterious modes and expressions as
idiom-based phrases interpret their ‘reality’

So we have interesting conversations - it may
be disconcerting to hear their translation; you
thought what you said couldn’t be ‘rephrased’
into a transliterated tho’ neutral response to a
clear-cut command of do it my way; authority
discretely changes hands somehow, and we

Begin compromise-bargaining with verve and
élan far beyond ‘we and they’ fences erected
to determine who’s on which side - but, in the
end, there’s an elasticity of reason which you
see transcending structural hegemonies, and
which the agreement to agree comprehends
