My Idea

If my idea of the things that mattered managed
to stay coherent then I’m shattered - if the idea
of an analogy that what we’ve succeeded in the
art of survival as a species actually has a greater
reason than simply still being here - it isn’t in an
obsequious rank of ribbons with medals worn t’
change whom we are; although I will say seeing
a mob of th’ same reminded where I came from

I don’t march on ANZAC day, & it isn’t because I
can’t or won’t - but you’d better be careful if, or
how, you judge me because I also judge - where
I served or didn’t isn’t my definition of what you
give a shit matters or if you don’t; fact’s own th’
right to say we’re here because it is ANZAC day
