Sausages


A notion of the old-style English pork sausages, 
those extravagantly ‘well tailored’ bangers we’ll 
remember with affection’s under test, & being a 
recent retiree - cooking’s th’ game for me - with 
that best-flavours expression of the ‘immutable’ 
standard we remembered from days of yore - a 
‘style & savour’ which was always to the fore in 
memories of our Mother’s kitchen endeavours 

Yet I already hear someone drawling th’ boiled 
ain’t cooked argument best left to th’ gourmet’s 
clique for proper riposte; heaven’s - we already 
lost that argument, but an indecently seductive 
scent from the ragù bolognese where they’ll be 
immersed with savoury intent - slyly intervenes
