This Day And Age

Things just don’t gel together like they used to back 

in th’ not-too-distant-past, but we’re only beginning 

t’ understand what it means - perhaps change does 

come in the masks on different faces - & is relevant; 

we need to see the progression before blaming that 

last sotto voce harbinger most recently cast as neo-  

clairvoyant, there’s already precedence in the ‘chain 

of events’ which we didn’t want to heed, or believe  

And th' irony remains; we’ve seen it all, time & again, 

like watching ancient re-runs on TV, because we can 

live with th’ ‘same old, same old scenarios’ so easily 

there’s no need scratch the surface to see if the plot 

is relevant, and in fact is th' one we believe makes a 

play on how we see each other in this day and age
