If awakening to Little River Band’s ‘Curiosity killed
the Cat’ is tonic for the soul then I’m saved, not as
an unrequited fibber, or cretaceous hangover from
the Age of Plenty; this is Music of the 70’s - where,
I guess, we came from, though we matured before
that music made itself permanent space - which in
these days fits perfectly, although back a ways we
didn’t judge anything I can recollect that clearly
I was awake was what I wanted to say - and yet it
didn’t count until the past intervened and replaced
decidedly higher hammocks, and events of th’ day
took perspectives far away from the mundane and
even brightened prospects, amazing; if you like, it
was th’ view we had to grow into, or age-on bereft
