Today truly felt the first day of Summer; despite
weather.com predictions of much less we hit 36
degrees quite early - & in character; it remained
warmish well into th’ evening, & wasn’t best live
match Rugby watching scenario, but meant my
having a few cold beers was ok - helping make
heat wearable - all while watching the Mitre Ten
Cup battles unfold on cooler fields - far away
You’d have to say - keeping the game going for
sake of a professional ethic - with the imagined
exorbitant wages couldn’t be further from reality;
these players were slaving in heat for a game’s
glory; our professionals played out their contest
in a treasure of golden Winter months before
