Life Support

Somewhere there’s an explanation as satisfactory
as a justification for turning off life-support - its not
in doubt that any sentient view of autonomy failed
to score those boxes we’d expect to see ticked, &
its a non-arguable event we’ve seen the legion’s-
worth of precedent indecently emblazoned on the
decadent TV channels of yesteryear - this is past,
gone-with-the-winds-of-change, hardly a memory

Though, not with any ‘comforting’ predictions for a
miraculous recovery, cure or altruistic solution; it’s
just one more of the bizarre hangovers we endure
in a ‘Because Society’ - because we’re too scared
to stand up & be counted rationally; so if you’re in
the clique who voted for the irrational beast stand,

Be seen for who y' are - & turn off your life-support
