Rugby Tragics

If you’re an obsessed Rugby tragic I’d guess you’d see
the sign of South Africa’s defeat by Italy as ominous an
omen as predicting Georgia next to win the World Cup

I wouldn’t be delirious enough to go along with that but
I’ll suggest the Springboks need resting from addictive
levels of attention - whether as victors or vanquished -

In the event, at 20 - 18 the Boks looked contrite - while
the Azzurri were rather ecstatic - probably rightly so as
it was their first ever victory over the Jaapies; & Ireland

by beating the NZ All Blacks at Chicago’s Soldier Field
2 weeks previously - for the first time ever, raised quite
a ‘brogue-blended-intrigue’ the Irish commentary team

Wassailed like it is the New Vogue; but today, Dublin’s
game 2 failed to keep the troth; at 9 - 21, it wasn’t their
forte it seems - though the fete continued on into other

Games - with Wales just beating Japan, on the bell, by
33 - 30; & Scotland managing to pull one out of th’ bag
over Argentina by 19 - 16, and the Wallabies surviving

Les Bleus, France to win 25 - 23. Note I haven’t said a
word about the English side yet who demolished Fiji &
dished South Africa a lemon, but it can wait for a week

And blush at those yet-to-be-played games remaining
