It’s this saying about people playing at doing
crosswords; pardon m’ ignorance I ask, what
has ‘playing’ to do with it, either you know, &
are doing - within reason, exactly what you’d
planned to do, intimating you’ll actually even
guess a few words correctly; or, is it the view
you haven’t a fandangle what th’ clue means
first place, and thus the game’s already done
But I’m informed, that isn’t the way we see it,
there’s this idea of fun where we muse about
meanings before filling the blanks. Sounds a
complicated ordeal I reply, like seeing space
as emptiness in need, best compensated by
whichever waste's found most amusing. Ok,
whichever waste's found most amusing. Ok,
they say, how do you do it? With Thesaurus
in hand; there is no way of me out-guessing
‘em when they use the most obscure words
whose meaning corresponds with ones you
use daily, but’ve never seen before, & that’s
hardly the vocabulary of a ‘game’ - isn’t it
