Today’s the first with new desk-chair in the place
where the old beast used to be; it’s an endearing
change as here no cushions are necessary - and
adjustment-ease makes swearing non-obligatory;
in th’ old days profanity was a necessity - usually
with flamboyant originality one could rely upon to
get the ball rollin’ - and thereto words would flow,
hopefully growing into something we called verse
But not so today as we’re in the lap of luxury - & I
can suggest Riley had something to do with that -
we’re impressed caring has left the nest on rustic
wings in an arcane wrest of ‘effortless’ transition -
presumedly to bigger, & potentially, better, things;
and there’s its irony as so did the damned poesy
